Robin Cullen, Tax Specialist, BCom CA

Robin takes the worry out of dealing with the Inland Revenue Department!  He is Marriotts’ tax specialist.  With absolute calm and assurance, he deals with problems regarding assessments and audits, he makes complex issues understandable, and helps make sure Marriotts’ clients avoid pitfalls yet make the best of opportunities where they arise. 

Rather than a standard ‘template’ approach, Robin looks at every client’s tax issues and gives individualised solutions to tax problems.  With extensive knowledge and experience, he sorts out tax matters relating to large transactions such as the sale of a business, land, plant and vehicles; tax implications for overseas investments; and issues faced by people settling in New Zealand from overseas or relocating to another country.  He takes the mystery and fear out of tax audits and keeps everyone at Marriotts informed about tax changes, such as the new GST zero rating rules.

Robin is a family man, with a teenage daughter, and in his ‘spare time’ he plays cornet in a brass band (of course, he is also the treasurer of the band!).  He enjoys a quiet break away from the phone now and then by taking his trout fishing rod to a favourite spot by a mountain lake.
